Delhi Earthquake: Sonam Kapoor, Vivek Oberoi, Himansh Kohli Feel The Tremors In Delhi As Earthquake Hits Near Rohtak, Haryana
The year 2020 is proving to be quite a challenging one. First with the Coronavirus pandemic, Cyclone Amphan, locust attacks, and now, an earthquake. The earthquake of magnitude 4.6 on the Richter scale hit Delhi on Friday evening. The earthquake had an epicenter in Rohtak, Haryana, according to the National Center for Seismology (NCS). Celebrities such as Sonam Kapoor, Himansh Kohli, Anubhav Sinha, Meera Chopra, Vivek Oberoi and others took to Twitter as earthquake tremors were felt in Delhi-NCR a little while ago.

Sonam Kapoor wrote, “Earthquake in delhi right now,” while Thappad director Anubhav Sinha tweeted, “Exactly how we ask Fascism??? Is how everyone is asking Earthquake???? Of course Earthquake... stay safe... sending you courage Delhi.” Himansh Kohli, who took a flight from Mumbai to Delhi a few days ago, also felt the tremors and he wrote, “Did anybody felt the earthquake just now in Delhi/NCR #earthquake.” TV actor Archana Vijaya wrote, “Who else felt that earthquake a few minutes ago?! Tell me it wasn’t my imagination . #Delhi.” Meera Chopra tweeted, “Earthquake in delhi.. this is the 3rd one in a month.. #earthquake.”

ANI tweeted about the news of the earthquake, giving details about its magnitude. “An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.6 on the Richter Scale hit 16 km ESE of Rohtak in Haryana at 21:08 hours today: National Center for Seismology (NCS)”


Earlier this month, another earthquake of magnitude 3.5 had hit Delhi and its nearby areas. Back then, the epicenter was near Wazirpur area in northeast Delhi. According to NCS officials, earthquakes of magnitude less than 5 and higher depth range are not likely to cause huge damage, unless in case of weak structures.
